My name is Will Welsh, and this website is a visfolio of work completed for ARTG 5330, Visualization Technologies 1. The three projects completed for this class are linked on this home page.

Project 1 - MBTA Ridership Visualized

For Project 1, I chose to visualize ridership and performance data published by the MBTA. The data was visualized by train line and destination, with data collected in Quarter 3 2022. Time between stations was represented using railroad ties, while gated station entries were graphed using stick figures.

Project 2 - BLUEBike Utilization Visualized

For Project 2, I chose to visualize BLUEBike ridership by origin and destination for October 2022. Using neighborhood data published by the City of Boston and the city information attached to the BLUEBike station info, I visualized the connections between the defined areas broken down by both date and time.

Final Project - Visualizing NBA Trade Pairs

For Project 3, I chose to use the network foundation I coded in Project 2 to visualize the number of trades between each pair of NBA teams throughout the league’s history. This data is represented through connections between the two teams, which are placed approximately by arena location.
